Quoted from java.com: “Java allows you to play online games, chat with people around the world, calculate your mortgage interest, and view images in 3D, just to name a few. It’s also integral to the intranet applications and other e-business solutions that are the foundation of corporate computing.”

Since Java runs on PCs and Macs, hackers can write a java program that can infect almost every computer which surfs the internet today. Keeping java updated and patched is critical for computer security.

Recently, hackers were able to exploit security holes in Java and infect malwares to hundreds of thousands of systems as hour goes by.

Hackers try to find the loopholes and java developers try to fix them and as a result of this competition, we as audiences get frequent updates.
